I’m a little late sharing this one but I wanted to let you all know about the beautiful ‘Cooloola’ farming community just north of the Sunshine Coast.
Last Saturday we headed up to the Gympie region just 30 mins north of Noosa for the annual Cooloola Farm Trail.
A great opportunity to do something a little different that only happens twice a year. For three days in both May & September local produce farms open up their gates for farm tours, educational talks, kids activities and tastings.
We had a wonderful time learning about the beautiful Alpaca’s at Broadmeadows Farm and Noah loved picking his own pumpkin, we also picked some beans with the friendly team at Biofields Organic and enjoyed a beautiful lunch under the shady trees care of the ‘Gypsy Green Vegan Bus’.
Lindols Macadamias farm was perfect for the kids with lots of open space and lawn games on offer plus several food stalls and yummy macadamia tastings – the Macadamia butter is amazing!
Next we took off to Purity Essential Oils which is home to the beautiful Lemon Myrtle Trees (the smell of these trees are just devine). We enjoyed some delicious locally made goods and then finished up at Cooloola Berries for some strawberry picking!
We didn’t get around to all the farms but it was a fabulous day and I highly recommend keeping an eye out for this in 2020.
Here’s a couple of snaps from the day…
